Full documentation on every shipmentRecognised at the Highest Level
Parent company Icemark-Africa holds four Uganda President's Export Awards (2002, 2003, 2007 Gold, 2008 Excellence); Mashamba FFP (U) Ltd holds the UEPB Gold Award 2018/19, Ministry export recognition, and is a registered exporter of horticultural products on Uganda's MAAIF register. Further recognised by Qatar Airways Cargo for outstanding airfreight export contribution, 2014–2018.
UEPB Gold Award 2018/19Every shipment from Uganda to your facility is backed by these four pillars, dispatched through Entebbe (EBB) to wholesale buyers across the UK, EU, and Gulf.
Discuss Your RequirementsUganda's equatorial position, mineral-rich, fertile soils, and year-round harvest cycles create growing conditions very few origins on earth can match. For wholesale buyers, this means dependable supply, clean produce, and consistent quality, delivered fresh by air, which is why buyers keep sourcing fresh produce from Uganda.
Hot peppers at source: hand-selected in Mashamba's Ugandan fields.
Stable daylight supports continuous harvests, reliable supply schedules without the seasonal gaps that affect other origins.
Mineral-dense farmlands near Mt Elgon and the Rwenzori foothills enhance flavour and extend natural shelf life, produce that arrives market-ready.
Lake Victoria, the Nile basin, and seasonal rains reduce chemical inputs and support the low-residue produce UK and EU buyers require.
Smallholder traditions favour low-input, low-chemical practices, supporting the strict MRL expectations of UK and EU buyers without additional processing.
Entebbe International Airport (EBB), expanded cold-chain facilities, and the direct Uganda Airlines route to London Gatwick (May 2025) mean faster transit and stronger shelf life.
Every shipment follows the same disciplined sequence. Because each stage is managed in-house, nothing is left to a third party between the farm gate and the aircraft.
Our agronomists select crops from trusted smallholder farmers across Uganda's growing regions, matched to your specification and volume.
Trained quality managers grade and inspect every lot at the packhouse. Produce that misses export grade never enters your shipment.
Food-safe, tamper-evident packaging to airline specification. Clear labelling and lot-level traceability on every carton.
Phytosanitary certificate, commercial invoice, packing list, air waybill, and certificate of origin, prepared and shared before departure.
Time-bound loading at Entebbe International Airport (EBB) minimises dwell time. Cold-chain-aware handling protects freshness to departure.
Your shipment arrives documented, compliant, and market-ready. Our team confirms arrival and supports any clearance queries.
"Freshness is won or lost in the hours between harvest and aircraft loading. Our entire process exists to protect those hours."

View Full Product DetailsMashamba supplies wholesale buyers in 9 countries across the UK, Europe, and the Gulf. Every shipment departs Entebbe (EBB) with full destination-specific documentation.
Region 01
Our longest-standing market. The direct Uganda Airlines Entebbe–London Gatwick route, launched May 2025, now flies three times weekly with around 25 tonnes of cargo capacity per flight, cutting transit times and extending shelf life for buyers importing fresh produce from Uganda to the UK.
Region 02
We supply importers and wholesalers across five European markets. Every shipment carries the phytosanitary certification and MRL-aware sourcing EU border controls expect, whether buyers are sourcing Ugandan produce into the Netherlands or elsewhere in Europe.
Region 03
Strong, growing demand for Ugandan fresh produce across the Gulf, led by buyers importing Ugandan produce to the UAE. Our airfreight-only model suits the region's premium freshness expectations, recognised by Qatar Airways Cargo for export contribution, 2014–2018.
Mashamba shipments at Entebbe, and parent company Icemark-Africa, the freight operation behind every dispatch since 2001.
Our export heritage began with Icemark-Africa Ltd, formed in 2000 by Kristján Erlingsson, with export operations running from Entebbe since 2001. FFP (U) Ltd followed in 2006, operating since 2008 under the Mashamba brand, built on one mission: move Uganda's finest agricultural products to the world, fast, certified, and without compromise.
Over two decades we have shipped 23 million+ kg of premium fresh produce, hot peppers, ginger, matoke, sweet potatoes, and more, sourced from hundreds of smallholder farmers and dispatched via priority airfreight from Entebbe to buyers in the UK, Netherlands, France, Germany, Saudi Arabia, UAE, and beyond.

Logistics
Perishables lose shelf life every hour after harvest. Mashamba shipments are typically airborne from Entebbe within two days of harvest and at your destination airport within four, the difference between premium pricing and markdown stock. Cold chain management begins at harvest, not during transportation.
